Sartorius Stedim Biotech (SSB) and a packaging firm Sudpack Medica have entered into an agreement to develop, manufacture and supply polymer plastic films for biopharmaceutical industry.

Under the strategic agreement, which is based on an initial term of 10 years, Sudpack will make plastic film material to support the manufacturing of SSB’s single-use bags and systems to be used for cell cultivation, transportation and storage of biopharmaceutical liquids in pharmaceutical industry.
The companies will also work together to develop multi-layer films for use in single-use bioreactors.
SSB R&D executive vice president Oscar-Werner Reif said by supplying single-use products, they are striving to continue offering their customers real added value in the future as well.
