Sonoco ThermoSafe introduces new insulated shippers

Published 06 September 2013

Temperature assurance packaging provider Sonoco ThermoSafe introduced new Aeris Series of pre-qualified shippers for maintaining pharmaceuticals, biologics, vaccines and other high-value products between the temperatures of 2–8 degrees C for a minimum of 54 hours during transport.

The Aeris Series of shippers which will be available in four sizes ranging from 2.5l-24l will be manufactured at the company's production units in Germany and Ireland.

According to the company, the Aeris Series which is prequalified to the company's ISCsilver ambient profile, will also meet the upcoming European good distribution practice regulations.

Sonoco ThermoSafe Europe general manager Niall Lehane said the company is excited to launch the first in a series of pre-qualified shippers specifically for the European market.

"The Aeris Series addresses our customers' need for pre-qualified shippers to meet strict European GDP regulations," Lehane added.

"Our customers choose Sonoco ThermoSafe for our high quality and the reassurance that their pharmaceuticals will maintain their efficacy through the entire supply chain. Now, they can locally source pre-qualified solutions with the same quality Sonoco ThermoSafe is known for."

The new insulated shippers can be quickly assembled and at a lower cost as they contain fewer components and also weigh less.
