Schreiner MediPharm introduces film-based solution for blinding blister packs

PBR Staff Writer Published 30 June 2011

Schreiner MediPharm, which develops and produces specialty labels and self-adhesive marking solutions for the medical and pharma industries, has developed a special film-based solution for blinding blisters used in clinical drug trials.

The solution opaquely covers the trial drug or a placebo that is being administered during clinical trials.

Printing with a special ink makes the label by Schreiner MediPharm impermeable to light.

Schreiner MediPharm claims, the design and specific properties of the material of the specialty film allows extracting pills easily.

Since the material consistently exhibits the same properties it can be used irrespective of the configuration of the individual cavities.

Consequently, the label can also be applied to blister packs of various sizes.
