Safecor Health expands contract with Novation

Safecor Health, a provider of pharmaceutical repackaging services, has extended their single-source contract award with Novation for unit dose repackaging and bar coding services.

Both the companies have finalized a one-year extension of the deal, under which Safecor Health will continue to provide unit-dose and bar-coded medication repackaging services to members and affiliates of VHA, University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) and Provista.

Safecor is believed to offer readable bar codes and more strategic repackaging solution which would enhance operational efficiencies, besides adding financial advantages.

Safecor Health minimizes pharmacy labor costs associated with repackaging and checking, solves key regulatory and quality challenges, avoids capital equipment investments, provides GPO contract-compliant purchase opportunities of medications in less costly bulk sizes, and reallocates valuable pharmacy space, the company claimed.
