news.Rollprint Packaging Products has invested $1.25m in a new multi-configuration pouch production facility for sterile medical and other applications.

The company has acquired Ritemed 900 CHB machine from Switzerland-based Water Line, to deploy at its 8, 6,000ft2 cleanroom in Addison, Illinois, US.
Capable of around 100 cycles per minute, the machine can simultaneously handle around five webs including medical-grade paper, aluminum foil, polypropylene and polyethylene films, coated and uncoated Tyvek.
Installation is expected by the end of the year.
The unit with a width of 1mt, will manufacture several thousand pouches per minute, according to Packaging Digest.
Rollprint technology vice president Doug Dodrill was quoted by the news agency as saying that the company has received overwhelming response from medical device manufacturers soon after it announced the construction on its new cleanroom last year.
"Our new manufacturing capability has driven demand for additional production capacity, so we are once again making a sizeable investment," Dodrill added.
Operational since last fall, the cleanroom consists of five production lines, which are capable of manufacturing a wide range of sterile medical pouch structures.
On completion of the installation, Rollprint’s overall production is likely to increase as much as 25%.
