Renhuang Pharma Gets Patents For Product Package Designs

Renhuang Pharmaceuticals has been awarded patent protection for product packaging designs for its Tianma headache tablets (in both the 48- and 100-count sizes) and Shengmai granules by the State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO) of the People's Republic of China.

Renhuang said that design patents, that are awarded to recognise shape, pattern, or a combination of the two, in an industrial application, are one of three patent categories available under Chinese patent law. A design patent is known to increase brand value by protecting a valuable item of intellectual property (IP).

Shaoming Li, chairman and CEO of Renhuang, said: “We are pleased that the SIPO has awarded us patent protection on three of our packaging designs. We have invested research and time into developing attractive product packaging designs, resulting in easy market recognition.

“When consumers see our packages, they immediately recognise our brand and know that it contains all-natural medication. Our move to secure patent protection for our packaging designs is part of our overall IP program as we continue to seek patent security for our proprietary medications, processes and other IP.”

Renhuang Pharmaceuticals is a developer, manufacturer and distributor of botanical products, bio-pharmaceuticals and traditional Chinese medicines (TCM).
