Plumat Introduces New Automatic Aseptic Filling, Sealing Line

Plumat, a Germany-based form, fill, seal machinery manufacturer, has introduced a new technology, Bag Filling Linear (BFL 854), automatic aseptic filling and sealing line.

Plumat said that BFL 854 offers control over safety issues as well as a reduction in product contamination risk during the fill/seal process.

Plumat claimed that the new automatic aseptic filling and sealing line for pre-sterilised bags meets the growing trend in the pharmaceutical industry for packaging of injectable drugs in flexible bags using an aseptic filling process.

The current practice for filling solutions in flexible bags utilises terminal sterilisation, which falls short in meeting proposed higher regulatory standards.

Plumat’s new process is expected to add to the advantages of its existing standards such as Aseptic filling, in which the filling of the drugs into the flexible bags is done aseptically in A class environment which is expected to satisfy proposed higher regulatory standards.

It will also offer Automated process, in which the process is fully automated from the loading of pre-sterilised bags to the overwrapping of bags to reduce operator contamination potential and Aseptic machine and workstation custom design.

Bob Villarese, president of Plumat North America, said: “With stricter standards on the horizon, we are offering safety controls that will bring packaging facilities and pharma labs up to speed.”
