Klockner Rolls Out New Polyester Films For Pharmaceutical Blister Packaging

Klockner Pentaplast (Klockner) has introduced new Pentapharm kpVantage polyester films for pharmaceutical blister packaging. The company said that these films can be used as mono films for pharmaceuticals that require low moisture barrier or incorporated into barrier structures for products requiring increased protection from gas and moisture.

Klockner claimed that these films are efficient when used for ethical drugs, solid oral-dose packaging, generics, OTC, veterinary medicine, nutraceuticals and physician samples. The films offer an expanded forming window for optimum thermoforming, form at lower temperatures thereby reducing usage of energy, increasing line speed, and punch and perforate tidily, with no angel hair.

Klockner further claimed that the films also offer a complete series of barrier protection with common contact material and process constantly with no neck-in and good registration. The films lay horizontally for enhanced performance on filling stations, provide clarity, good optical and surface qualities, and have improved tensile properties for being more robust.
