Clondalkin deploys new booklet-label machine

Clondalkin Group, a Netherlands-based pharma and healthcare packaging specialist, has invested in the latest generation of booklet-label manufacturing and finishing equipment at its Glasnevin site.

The site, which is part of the Group’s Specialist Packaging Division, has invested in the Prati Vega booklet-label machine to further improve its quality performance across several study profiles.

The Vega machine is expected to provide a range of benefits to Clondalkin’s growing customer base.

The machine produces booklets of about 64 page counts and features an in-line lamination unit with register control, enabling the application of Braille in register to the outer laminate.

The Vega machine also consists of a hot melt coating unit and Pharma Code scanning.

Clondalkin Pharma and Healthcare Glasnevin site director Barry Marron said that each booklet-label will undergo up to 15 separate checks as part of the company’s processes.

"Our site is extensively equipped in all stages of the print and production processes from origination and print through to conversion and delivery, and this investment represents our continued commitment to improve our processes, expand our capabilities and increase our flexibility," Marron added.

Clondalkin Pharma and Healthcare Glasnevin supplies specialist self-adhesive labelling and digital booklet solutions to the pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical device and clinical trial companies in Ireland and across Europe.
